23 Year old student one of youngest at Stanford University

Name: Harsh Chamria

Age: 23 yrs

Education History: Schooling till class VI at St James School, Kolkata; then to Doon School; from Doon to Appleby College (Canada) on exchange programme.

Back to India to do complete 11th and 12th at La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata.

Graduation from Cornell University in electrical and computer engineering.

And now, he is the youngest entrant in Stanford University.

For a young boy, that is a bag full of achievements!

His experience at Cornell University

Rahul has been very focused from the beginning. He wanted to work on lines of convergence of telecom, network and finance. Cornell offered the right course and he took it up. There he was also awarded the entrepreneurship in engineering fellowship (Cornell Kessler fellows). He partnered with Bling Nation, a Silicon Valley startup and coincidentally located just behind Stanford.

Innovations

At Bling Nation he initiated the concept of using social media at point of sale and analyze effectiveness of customized promotions. Also he developed blueprint for web interface to be used by partner merchants to identify consumer groups.

Work experience

After being suggested to gain work experience in India, Harsh joined his family firm Magma FinCorp, one of India’s largest asset finance companies with $2.7 billion worth of assets.

Harsh created an online lead-generation sales channel for the car loans business, implemented a full-scale online credit-underwriting solution in top-10 cities of India based on success of online lead-generation pilot targeting $1million business in the first month of operation. He also created a cross-platform digital strategy comprising branding and sales initiatives.

He will be joining Stanford this September.
