JEE Main 2013 latest update

CBSE has just released a detailed release on the JEE Main examination 2013.

The JEE Main paper will be held on April 7, 2013 in the Offline mode for both B.Tech/BE and B.Arch/ B. Planning courses. The rank list of JEE Main will be considered for admission for Engineering and Architecture courses in NITs, IIITs, DTU (Delhi Technological University) and CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions).

Paper I of earlier AIEEE which is for BE/B.tech courses will also be held in Online mode after April 7, 2013. And the Paper II of earlier AIEEE for B.Arch/ B. Planning courses will be held only in the offline mode.

The merit list for admission will be prepared by giving 40% weightage to class XIIth (or equivalent examination) marks and 60% weightage to JEE Main marks.

As per the merit list prepared of JEE Main, 150000 students will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Details of JEE Main will be released soon by IITs. This exam will be for admission to IITs, ISM Dhanbad and IT BHU.

JEE Main 2013 pattern

  • The paper will have only objective type questions.
  • There will be questions on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Duration of the paper will be 3 hours
  • Paper II (for B.Arch / B. Planning) will have one paper with questions from Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test; duration will be 3 hours.
