Sony Xperia Z launched in India


The flagship smartphone by Sony, the Sony Xperia Z was launched in India at an event in Delhi. The smartphone boasts of, among other things, to be water and dust resistant.

Sony Xperia Z runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by quad core Qualcomm CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU. The latter ensures a good gaming platform support. It comes with 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB with microSD support. The 2 GB RAM, like other standard smartphones in the market, is good to run multiple apps and functions. XPeria Z’s camera is boastful too with 13 megapixels rear auto focus Exmor RS that comes with LED Flash and full HD recording. Moreover, the front Exmor camera is 2 megapixels. The smartphone is 3G enabled and supports Wi-Fi, bluetooth 4.0, DLNA, A-GPS, GLONASS and NFC.

The 2330 mAh battery promises up to 11 hours of talk time on 2G and 14 hours on 3G. The smartphone is neither too heavy nor too light at 146 gm. Coming to the dimensions, the body measures 5.5″ x 2.8″ x 0.31″ which is pretty sleek and comfortable to hold in hands. The screen is 5″ OptiContrast capacitive 10 point multi touch with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. BRAVIA 2 engine also claims to give sharper and brighter images that makes the screen readable under sunlight.
The icing on the cake in the display is an impressive 448 ppi.
