JEE Main 2013 Question paper analysis: Mathematics

JEE Main 2013 MathematicsThe first JEE Main Maths paper was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. JEE Main and JEE Advanced have replaced AIEEE and IIT JEE engineering entrance exams. Here is an analysis of the maths paper and contrast it with AIEEE paper.

The Mathematics paper in AIEEE 2012 was tougher than that of JEE Main this year.

Sub-topic wise distribution too was almost same. There were some minor expected differences.

The only change in pattern that can be seen is, last year there were 5 Assertion-Reasoning questions, this year there were only 3 A/R questions.

Points to be noted by students who will be preparing for CBT JEE Main or for next year, there are some typical problems that are asked.

  • Common tangents
  • Tautology or Fallacy statements
  • The population based questions involving dp/dt = f(p)
  • Problems based on asymmetric nature of straight lines in 3 dimension.
