  1. How exactly to go about making a application software? I have the idea required & i know c and c++ and working on java presently…please explain in detail what i else i should know, how to design an user interface and linking it etc etc

    • You can disclose if you want to…
      Well, to start with on writing a software in C, ts good practice to make all your global variables in a separate file (this is not very important, but will help you be clear of your steps later)

      As I have no clue on what level you want to make the software, all I can do for now is to give you some tips. Like I came across this one once

      cin.ignore() prevents the program from ending prematurely and closing the window immediately (before you have time to see it)! Press any key if you want to end the program. cin.get() functions in a similar manner.

      – very useful as often after junk lines, your program decides to teach you a lesson by just quitting :)

      Also, do not use obsolete codes. It might run in your compiler, but may not in others.

  3. are extra curricular activities and all other stuff happening in the college necessary??
    I am a student of DTU and it is known for its activities.
    does this really have a effect at the time of placement??
    I am good at studies but it really pressurizes me that i am a bit behind on the extra activities part.

  4. Extra Currics are important for two reasons – One, they help you gain confidence which is a major factor in job interviews. When you involve yourself in event management, of technical/non technical events or participate in competitions, you build up your team working skills and ability to execute practical work. This is seen as a big positive by companies.
    Two, they help you build a good rapport with seniors. And you can’t get better placement advice and guidance than by a senior!
    The students who get placed in core technical companies say very confidently that their extra currics play a minor role in the technical job placement, but there is no surety that you will easily get placed in one.

    It is always better to balance out your studies/classes and extra currics.
