So an apple a day, will now keep Samsung away!
Apple has won the patent infringement case over Samsung and now will receive nearly $1 billion from Samsung for damages cost due to infringement.
What’s next for Samsung? Apart from the fine it has to pay, Samsung’s main concern is now a ban which could be put on it’s products such as Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab in US. Now US being main market for Samsung’s products, this decision could be heavy for South Korean MNC. With this ruling, Apple has sent a strong word in the mobile industry that “Do not copy us”. Mobile manufacturers from all over the world will now have to alter their designs so that they remain out of Apple’s eye, because if Samsung could not win over Apple, others don’t stand a chance! Looking towards the whole case, it can easily be seen that Apple targeted manufacturers Samsung, HTC to indirectly give a hit to Google’s Android which is main competitor to Apple’s iOS. Now for every iphone or ipad, there are 3 devices running on Android so Apple’s case on HTC, Samsung is move to reduce Android market share.
Google which remained silent during all this fiasco has now come to a fighting ground. We all know Google recently bought Motorola Mobility but main point here are was acquisition of 17,000 patents which Motorola holds. Motorola already had “talks” with Apple over patent infringement but now Google, has filed case over Apple for patent infringement over 7 patents. Given the fact these patents are as strong as the patents Apple had over Samsung, the clash of Apple and Google would be worth watching!
