World population days is celebrated on 11th of July every year , on this day the world forum discuss cause of rapidity of population , demographic scientist show their concern about tremendous growth in increase of it . The human mankind is experiencing profound increment in population, in last two-three decades the world population is doubled from previous data. Every second our planet welcomes three newcomers who join the league of exploitation of resources.

We are multiplying like microorganism and all we starving Homo-sapiens eating our resources at a much higher rate than it produce. One of the substance we eating is crude oil the black gold, why we called it as black gold is clear because it has immense importance than any other precious substance available on earth. Crude oil is responsible for the products like petrol, diesel, kerosene and natural gas if we don’t have these products our life is become Spartan. We all doesn’t matter rich or poor are integrated with each other by this black blood only , petrol as fuel use in automobiles for transportation and transportation is our sole base of living . Petrol has a great importance in our life it effects the entire economy and no one can think to live without it. But what when we don’t have petrol.

Answer is we have to look something else and the solution is ready in the form of bio-fuel. Bio-fuel is what we generate from the plants, it’s not a very recent development bio-fuel is using in many part of world including India from several decades.

In India we have nearly 60000 km of waste land is available out of which 30000 is suitable for the cultivation of Jatropha , a cash crop in India from which we make bio-fuel . Once jatropha grow it has a life span of 20 year and it need very less amount of water as compare to other cash crops and each fruit of it has 40% of oil which make jatropha suitable for bio-fuel . Bio diesel is carbon neutral and many by-products of it flow in agro industry. And it can directly used as fuel without refining. The cost of jatropha base bio-fuel in India is Rs 20 per liter.
Jatropha cultivation is at its boom in India Government has permitted to use it by mixing for fuel in cars , for heavy vehicles 100 % mixing gives satisfactory result , Indian railways has also run its first successful trail in Tamil nadu on Thanjavur to nagore section and trichy to Lalgudi with 5% mixing inhouse estrification plant . In addition to it railways also cultivating 1.5 crore jatropha sapling on railway land in Chhattisgarh , Mizoram , and Andhra Pradesh apart from is state government is also running jatropha cultivation programs with the help of department of biotechnology ministry of science and technology and state level agriculture universities .

Bio-fuel is a successful concept bur show some problems in recent past when USA start making bio-fuel from maize and stop export in African countries result in food scarcity and hunger . But after all this bio fuel is future and all we have to do is large research to burn in internal combustion engine with high efficiency. And focused R&D programs and initiate war footing
