How the movies fared – Box Office Collection of ABCD and Special Chabbis

The two big movies that released last week ABCD Anybody Can Dance and Special Chabbis received good reviews from the audience as well as movie critics. While good choreography and 3D marked as the USPs for the former, good storyline and star cast played its cards for the latter.

Box Office Collection ABCD Special Chabbis

Special 26 leads the Box Office collections with Rs 25.7 crores domestic collections. Also the Akshay Kumar starrer made a little more than 6 crores in the opening weekend overseas. ABCD falls a little behind with around Rs 21 crores Domestic Box Office collection.

Will they hit the 100 crore milestone?

With the present figures, it seems that neither will reach that mark. But both the movies will be remembered for certain features. Special Chabbis for being an intelligent off beat film, minus any social message. And ABCD for the unique choreo and ensemble of finest dancers and of course Prabhu Deva.

The previous movies

Race 2 by Abbas-Mustan has already crossed the 100 crore mark over the longer than two weeks run at theaters. Vishwaroop is going okay but numbers seem sluggish. Plus, the reviews of neither have been great to keep them going.

Upcoming Movies

This week we will have Jayantabhai ki Luv Story starring Vivek Oberoi and Murder 3 from the Bhatt camp. Predictions are favorable for Murder 3 starring Randeep Hooda, Aditi Rao and Sara Loren. It is good to see intelligent storylines finally getting some attention in Bollywood today. We can give some credit to Kahaani for reigniting the trend.

More big Bollywood movies expected this month include Kai Po Che and I Me Aur Main.
