“Camera” photo app by Facebook to compete with Instagram

Facebook paid $ 1 Billion for the photo app Instagram in April this year but it could take Facebook up to 12 months to actually own it because of an obligatory competition probe in the deal. It is understood that FB has been working on creating an Instagram rival for some time to monetize its mobile offerings. And thus, “Camera” is the answer!

camera app by facebook

Camera lets people share multiple photos all at once, add captions, tag friends and layer on different filters to change the look of the photos – in a similar fashion to Instagram. Basically it is all about creating images for the purpose of sharing on Facebook and seeing fellow users’ images. Camera is available as an iphone app for free. The app is being compared to Instagram at large so far.

If you have used the app by now, let us know your experience!

  1. It doesn’t allow the user to upload unless he shares his location too and this has turned out to be very irritating to many….bad luck fb :P

  2. FB and Google plus are competing on who can get more information from users :D

What they dont understand that force squeezing information is a huge turn off!
