MTV Coke Studio Season 2 – Amazing Music That Touches Your Soul

The much awaited 2nd season of the world renowned musical television show “coke studio” is back. The show was introduced in India last year with its 1st season being aired on MTV. This year Coke Studio comes back with a change in format to make it even better. Unlike last year, which comprised of a single music producer “Leslie Lewis” clubbing with various artists to produce and rebuild some amazing music, this year each episode produces fresh built work of some of the most amazing music directors of the country to bring about music that touches your soul. The producers for this season are:

HITESH SONIK
AMIT TRIVEDI
KARSH KALE
NITIN SAWHNEY
SHANTANU MOITRA
EHSAAN NOORANI and LOY MENDONSA

The 1st episode of this season aired on MTV on Saturday (7th July, 2012) exhibiting producer Clinton Cerejo’s work, and believe me, it was a blast. The show opened with the song “Saakhi Salaam” sung by “Sawan Khan” an amazing and raw folk singer with amazing partial vocals by Clinton himself. The song honestly blew me away.

The other amazing attractions of the episode were “Madaari” sung by “Vishal Dadlani and Sonu Kakkar” and “Chadhh De” sung by “Master Saleem”.

The amazing music of the show can be accredited to the sheer excellence by Clinton Cerejo clubbed with the amazing talents and skills of artists and instrumentalists like “Rushad Mistry (Bass), Shon Pinto (Guitar), Lindsay D’Mello (Drums) and many more. Overall Coke Studio is a must watch show and I rate it 4/5.
