The genre of music to whose beats  for years people have swayed till their feet hurt …  Which brought a revolution in the music world.. A renaissance! Developed in 1960′s it has become a habit, a culture without boundaries..The sound of guitar, drums,keyboard ,cymbals all combined together have raised the adrenaline of every individual for centuries…Rock to every soul may symbolize a different perspective– Romance, Life without restrictions, carelessness, social justice, or just a life style… It is impossible to define rock with the limits of just being music! It has been more than that, and will remain so… Rock  is a concept which emphasis on sincerity, peace and soulful music… So raise your ROCK  FISTS for some of the finest individuals who have helped to shape rock music the way we see it today….:)

1) JIMMY PAGE

The god on six strings!

Ranked as one of the greatest and wildest( You can not be great without being wild ) guitarist and muti instrumentalist of all times… Member of The Yardbirds for 2 years after which he founded the super band Led Zepplin… He has been a idol and role model for millions… His technical control,momentum and authority on the guitar was always dazzling..With his amazing guitar playing skills and honest music appeal he was a major driving force for the advancing rock period… He had been an inspiration to a countless of rock bands… He was also famous for using a one of its kind double necked gibson.. He was also a producer , composer and had massive dreams for future rock… He once said (after the foundation of Led zepplin)

2)ELVIS PRESLEY

The name is enough I guess to make you smile…

Yes the KING of rock and roll… Commonly referred to a THE KING! He was an Icon in the history of rock , a phenomenon which made people worship this genre of music..He was a man to whom success was a synonym…Presley was one of the originators of  ROCKABILLY , an uptempo, backbeat-driven fusion of country and blues.

“Elvis Presley has been described variously as a baritone and a tenor. An extraordinary compass … and a very wide range of vocal color have something to do with this divergence of opinion.”

 

3)ERIC CLAPTON

The legend… The name in rock history which will never fade away… Worked as a band member for yardbirds, Cream and finally the bluesbreakers.. Nicknamed as “slowhand’  his nerve and feel on the six string is unbeatable…

Legend! An extraordinary guitar player whose guitar spilled magic with every note.. A perfectly graceful person on the six string.. The man was an expert, loud at times,melo at the others.. He could make people visualize music,see through his eyes the beauty of rock!

5) CARLOS  SANTANA

Ahhh… An ultimate favorite of mine..( Hah as if my choice matters to my worthy readers. )

But the guy is a thunder on guitar.. He makes people get off their seats and dance… He remains well a genius…His pure tone is recognizable anywere.. His fluid passages and sustained tones leave the listener awestruck and gobsmacked!

He calls his guitar his muse.. and livens up every soul with his divine and spiritual music!

 

Salute to these Great guys who have made and shaped music the way we perceive it today…. CHEERS!

(P.S.  Apologies if I missed some of your favorites ..Maybe i come up with part 2 if you guys want..
