Have a pet and be happy!

petsKids love pets! And why shouldn’t they? The fun of running around with the pet friend gives you so much fun time that it is just not enough. My aunt has six different pets, including dog, turtle, fish, parrot, and a hamster. I am forgetting the sixth in the family, though she might have mentioned her son to be the sixth one ;) her profound words, “Animals for kids is like having gifts from Santa everyday”! Each day her son learns something new being surrounded by his pet friends.

Though for many, having a pet dog is more too have a status symbol than anything else. It is in fact amusing how the sale and rates of pugs doubled and tripled after the dog made an appearance in the famous Vodafone advertisements. But for many like me and my aunt, pet dog is as good as having a loving family member. I can’t count the numerous times we have run around the neighborhood, strutted proudly in front of people in the park, my friendly proudly baring his teeth to scare away any apparent miscreants, laying on the grass on starry nights each counting the stars and so on.

I am not much of a cat lover, but there are many of my friends who would kill me if I said anything about the Egyptian goddess! As a thumb rule, I stay away from cats, but they too make great pets.

One request to all the pet owners; please treat them as family. Pets aren’t meant to be shown off. They treat you as masters because they look up to you and respect you. Any given day, your dog could bite your throat off but doesn’t do that simply because he respects you. Don’t misuse this love and respect.
