“You guys are gonna get some holidays, now!!”

“And why is that so?”

“The Indian Parliament was attacked. Maybe some high-profile minister has been shot…..” , He pauses for a while; then continues, “Ye saale Pakistani sudhar ni sakte..!!!

“Don’t talk like that bhaiyaa

“You don’t know anything !!!”

“As if, you do a lot, huh? They are also good people like us. They do want peace too…..”

He smiles awkwardly…..

Beta, you know when a Prime Minister/President is elected there, the prime requirement is that the person needs to have anti-India feelings”

Atif Aslam ke songs hote bade pyaare hain bhai!!!

“Though he can’t sing!”

“Still, his voice is magical!!!”

“Agreed…”

Yaar, Abhijeet was mad. There was no need for him to go as much against him and others as he did…”

“And….”

“And..??? What??”

“And, well …. how was he wrong exactly??”

“Well, he.. he..” she retaliated, “Baat to sahi hi thi…. We provide them employment, and what do they give us in return??”

“A few more attacks ”, I quipped.

Now, it was my turn to wear that awkward, wry, smile.

Looking back, I know, what had happened to my cab driver. Why was there so much hatred in his thoughts, his voice, his eyes; towards Pakistan as a state and Pakistanis as it’s nationals.

I’m not an advocate of war, and I do firmly believe that peace is perhaps the only chance that we have, but well, peace is not in sight; just not in sight.

The problem is, human mind, is like clay; can be moulded pretty easily. All it needed was a 26/11 to change my ideology and I’m in wait of something better, bigger; from us, from them; from any of the two brothers, an act of great courage, something, that could help me get back to my old self.

  2. A professor of mine once told me (the whole class) something about habit; I would not indulge into the story here, see, aam junta (common people) they’re not too much into politics and stuff, butt if your media, your leaders, people to whom you look upto just keep on saying “India is an enemy, India is an enemy”; then in time you’ll agree.

  3. Its unsolvable..
writers will write, speakers will speak, attackers will attack, aam aadmi will suffer and leaders will discuss…

    this is how it goes..

  4. firstly..in india, no one’s a leader..all are politically obssesed and profit driven bussinessmen, who are the biggest pick pocketeres(both of tax and votes)..
secondly..how many of you think what U.S has done in afghan and iraq is right??..atleast i thnk so..as we say in hindi
” eent ka jawab pathar se dena”….nahi to apne hi ghar ke kaanch tootenge…if we cant do that..
then this goes on till eternity..

  5. Wait wait wait… whatever U.S.A. did in Iraq, acc. to me, was profit driven and not emotionally done or whatever…..

secondly, I agree with you on the politician issue, but again we can’t go in all gun’s blazing coz we’re not U.S.A., I’m not talking about ideology here, it’s that superpower tag. I’d go with Abhishek sir, the solution is just not visible….!

  6. well, i remember the dailogue from “a wednesday ” which says that u hv to kill the cockcroach cuz he’s entering into ur compound…if u dont gve replies our silence will be ( actually is ) considered our weakness…so more of it will happen..also, if U.S was profit driven then howcome that eagerness to earn more raised suddenly after 9/11..?

  7. There’s no need for us to mix fiction with reality here. A Wednesday was a great movie, but well ‘a movie’ should remain one.
Let’s leave the U.S. out of the discussion here, now, what would you support : A full-blown attack against Pakistan?
