160 Placement offers have been made on day one of Placement season at IIT B this year. 35 companies had come for campus placements on Saturday, 29 came on Sunday. Though the college does not reveal any salary related data officially, but the happy students were jubilant enough to share the news on Facebook and social media. Multinational companies and social media companies have offered big paying jobs abroad.
Sriram Bhargava of the Computer Science Engineering department has been offered the highest package of US $ 1,50,000 pa which spells out to be roughly Rs 80 Lakh PA at Samsung at either US or Korea. Deepankar Reddy from COE department again has been offered one of the highest salaries by Rocket Fuel. Sagar Chordia and Saif Hasan have been hired by Facebook after 18 hours of rigorous interview rounds.
As per his Facebook status, Sagar got job offers from five companies, he finally accepted the Facebook offer. He is from Pune. Saif had developed the Facebook photo downloader in the Hack Night Competition. Sagar and Saif are both top rankers in their department (computer science and engineering department).
Facebook has offered base salary of US $ 100,000 with bonus relocation of $ 20,000 and stock options of $120,000 if they stay for two years.
This year Twitter and LinkedIn too came to get the top minds of the country.

Schlumberger has given highest number of offers. They have offered job to 25 at IIT Kharagpur alone with salary of 18 Lakh.
Microsoft has made 16 offers at IIT G, 21 at IIT KGP and 22 at IIT M.
Going by the figures, we see some happy future – rich business honchos in the making from IITs!
