Jism 2 – The Porn Star, The Secret Agent and The Assassin

What? You are expecting a review? Well, just look at the title dear friend. That is all there is to the story.

Sunny Leone plays a Porn Star ‘Izna’ who will help the mulk by helping a the secret agent Ayaan, played by Arunoday Singh catch the dangerous Assassin Kabir, played by Randeep Hooda. There is a reason I wrote Assassin with a capital A. He is the only saving grace of the movie!

Frankly, Randeep Hooda did not have much to do. But when he recites Ghalib, oh man! He is the perfect assassin I would love to die in hands of (pun -intended pls!) Sunny Leone also did not have much to do. Though at times I felt that she does have an acting streak. But then again, there was actually no script to call for any acting skills. And one more amusing factor of the movie (which I have actually seen in many movies) is that despite Kabir has been described as such a dangerous man, only two people in the entire country are after him. And they actually find no better way than begging his ex lover to help them get him. Are they seriously that dumb? I mean, don’t they know what happens when two ex lovers meet? Do they actually expect this girl to help them and do desh ki raksha? Oh, I forgot, no questions. We are just supposed to watch it and forget it.

But wait. Did someone tell me this movie is gonna be oh so steamy? Well, they are in for a depressing time. It seemed throughout the movie that they were pretty much undecided on whether to make it sleazy, or to do some story. In the end, they gave us some of this, some of that. So you basically get the worst of both worlds.

I came across some reviews and one review ( in The Hindu) puts it pretty bluntly

“Dear makers, we know what you want to show when you decide where to put the camera. We are not complaining, really. But, when you make Jism 3, can you spare us the pretension and get on with the action, please?”

Well said! And that about sums it up for Jism2. I might as well as stayed home and watched Big Bang Seasons all over again :p

But then again, however bad this movie is, I am sure you will watch it once just to see Ms Sunny Leone. Bang on the point ain’t I?
