Losing Virginity – A Game Or A Crime

Filed under: Life & Style |

Today, perhaps no other issue than virginity can serve as a perfect example of raging issues in context of youth. As far as the lexical meaning goes, virginity is a virgin’s state and a virgin means a maiden who has never had any sexual intercourse. While, loss of virginity for some is a loss of innocence and naivety while for some, it adds to the ‘cool’ quotient. Recently in India there has been a commendable rise in the number of girls losing their virginity before marriage by indulging in premartial sex. And day by day, it’s becoming more of a trend than a sin that it used to be in the olden days.
Youngsters hold a varied outlook towards this red-hot topic, lets have a brief synopsis…

What Modern India thinks :

A number of juveniles, who consider themselves ‘ultra-modern’, do not see any fault in this because they are in love with the western culture to such an extent that they don’t mind aping it blindly. In fact, they term it as ‘beneficiary’. Before marriage, the motive of sex is to increase the existing love, faith, and trust in the relationship ( while some do it just for the sake of having fun !) because for them, “everything is fair in love and war”. No sex, before marriage is a conservative, outdated thinking and should be changed according to the changing modern times. They argue that virginity can be lost by other ways also like while playing outdoor games etc then why indulging in sex treated as overrated. Some even believe that virginity has to be lost someday to someone, then why not today ! Some even don’t care about losing virginity, all they are interested in is sex and having a good time.

What traditional India thinks :

The youth today is destroying India’s pious culture, traditions, values, ethics & morals into a pool of filth by following the indecent ‘Western culture’ and embracing the cheap Bollywood movies. They claim they are becoming modern but, what is exact the ‘definition’ of being modern ? Loosing virginity is not a problem but whatever happens for the first time, that experience with its embedded love and excitement will not come again when you go sex after marriage. Sustaining virginity confirms the kind of thinking, character, dignity and respect the society holds for you as well as, your family. As far as, love is concerned, it’s more of a game of heart and not of nude bodies ! The couple starts a new life after marriage and both should consolidate trust in each other and trust depends on love only. Losing virginity before marriage is like screwing your spouse. And what we do today, the same shall be set as an example for our children.
So try & wake up to serve as a good and clean instance for your younger generation rather than exhibiting things which do not hold any value or bring any respect for oneself, the family and the rest of the country.

Remember : “Nobody wishes to have a used dish. Naturally we all expect a fresh dish to be served that too if it becomes dish for life !”

  2. Though a modern youth but I still agree with what traditional India thinks.
We should open our eyes rather than to follow western culture “blindly”.
Adopt what is good in them and keep distance from the things prohibited in our culture.

  3. This is a very subjective issue, so nothing can be termed wrong or right in an absolute sense.
And no offence, but there was nothing in the article that has’nt been read or heard a lot already.

  5. There’s no point in being judgmental here and categorically asserting this to be a sin or a virtue. I feel, it’s everybody’s personal prerogative, you can’t teach them what’s right and what’s wrong, neither would they listen.

and i would like to know why is this article only wrt girls?? why not guys??

i would request the delusional male chauvinist author to get his facts right and broaden his perspective!!

  7. virginity cant be lost due to extensive excercise and playing games. and how can u be so sure that this doesnot exist in traditional india …. and what if someone chats on his or her partner after marriage? in most cases men have premaritial sex and extramaritial affairs too what about that? so its specifically vary from person to person depending on what perceptions he has… and virginity is related to both men and women and writing something targetting women only is not fair
