A single eligibility cum entrance examination for admission to MBBS / BDS courses will be held from 2013 namely the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) UG that will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The first exam NEET UG on 5 May 2013 will be conducted by CBSE Delhi. The detailed official information about the exam NEET UG has been released. Here is a quick look at the major points.
When is the NEET UG Exam
The exam will be held on the first Sunday of May i.e. on 5 May 2013.
Time – 10 AM to 1 PM (paper is of 3 hours)
Who is eligible for the exam
The age limit is 17 to 25 years of age (as attained on or before 31 December of year of admission). The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/OBC. Candidates of Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh are not eligible for the NEET UG as the states have chosen to opt out of the exam.

I am eligible. How to apply for the exam
You need to apply online for NEET UG exam. Go to this link. Have a careful look at the form filling procedure and fill the Part I of Application form (note down the Registration Number generated). The next step is to make the payment. Now if you chose to make payment by credit / debit card the payment can be done online. If you chose to pay off line, you need to download the Challan for payment and pay at designated bank branches. Then you need to fill the Part II of application form furnishing details of the payment made. Take print out of Confirmation page(s) and send to CBSE along with copy of proof of fee deposited through Challan, if fee deposited through Challan mode.
