Prisoner of Fate

This world is no long my home,
‘Cause I live in your heart,
Where it’s red, stark red,
Same as the color of my heart.

Clear stream of reason has left me,
I am left a prisoner of your heart,
Within these four walls I crumble,
And slowly break apart.

Why are these windows broken,
Why is this home in sorrow,
From a far away room I hear me sing,
Songs of a broken tomorrow.

Soft rustling wind,
Wakes me up in the morning,
A thousand stars do shy away,
Seeing you smiling.

Oh how humble is your grace,
How humbly you conceal,
Words behind your eyes,
My eyes can’t reveal.

When there’s no room for tears,
Still the silence remains,
I look down at my tender palms,
Oh how I curse the wicked terrain.

What will fate has willed?
How dreams contort and wane?
In poetry were you forged,
In poetry you remain…
