Satyamev Jayate
This phrase shares an important part of Indian history. India which was in state of chaos or barbarism consequent of colonization since 1600 A.D, this line was somewhere a source of motivation and inspiration for those Indians who fought for our rights -who fought for truth.
In an interview with my cousin Mr. Akram Hassan, an alumnus of London Film Institute, London and Asst. director in Aamir Khan Production, we talked about this very new show which was a symbol of perfection just like what Mr. Aamir Khan the host and Bollywood superstar is.
Satyamev Jayate is a 6-year journey that Aamir and his colleagues had organized, visiting different states, cities and villages of India, finding and locating those stories which are real and depict both the good and bad aspect of our society. The journey was not a continuous voyage rather it was more in form of intensive research on internet, RTI information, data etc which were evaluated on various parameters and based on the importance of issue deal with, a series of traveling and interaction with people was done in order to make this show as good as a genuine news.
The first episode of this show deals with the major issue that our society is facing these days. Even after so many decades since we got the independence and constitution was written, female foeticides is still at a high rate in our society. The more shocking news is that unlike the earlier presumption which says that female foeticides are common only among the economically and socially backward classes, even the highly educated people and so called respectable figures of the society like doctors engineers, IAS etc have been found doing such crimes.
The show is hosted by Amir Khan and it is as perfect as he himself. In the upcoming episodes Aamir Khan Production venture will deal with issues like suicide, murders, domestic violence, and corruption etc as well as those issues which inspire us to be a brave and honest citizen of this great nation. The most important thing related to this show is that Aamir Khan always wanted this show to be watched by about each and every people of this country and to get their response for the issues raised. Hence he asked his friend Vinod, CEO sSar groups to allow him to be on air this show not just in star TV but also on Doordarshan i.e. national channel which is easily accessible to each and every people living at even the farthest and most interior part of this country. More over Aamir asked to allot Sunday morning i.e. 11am for this show unlike the normal reality shows on air at prime time. This forced to me realize and identify this show something like MAHABHARAT AND RAMAMYANA that I used to watch in my childhood. Aamir wanted each and every member of a family to watch this show and I believe he succeeded too.
At the end of the show, Aamir ask the viewers to vote for the cause and what the money that is collected from text messages and reliance foundation, they are given to registered NGOs etc to carry on welfare programmers for various issues.
No doubt Aamir once again proved his talent and his dedication to serve the society. Hats off to you Aamir!
‘Satyameva Jayate’ has inspired sarpanch Randheer Singh of Budania village in a Rajasthan village to register police cases against women and families who go for tests to detect and abort the girl child. Randheer Singh said a six-member committee had been formed to keep a tab on pregnant women. “After watching Aamir Khan’s TV show ‘Satyameva Jayate’ on female foeticide, I felt that awareness in Rajasthan is not enough,” he said.
Kudos Satyamev Jayate!
Truly an amazing show…Aamir proved himself that he is not a star, but just a human being

Absolutely love this show. Aamir Khan has done a fabulous job in raising issues that were needed to be addressed. Both the episodes made me cry, the songs at the end of the episode is like a cherry on top of cake.
