The month has been a really happening month for technology enthusiasts. Starting from the declaration of “Aakash 2″ tablet by HRD minister Kapil Sibbal to upgrades for Nokia Lumia to the greatest of all… Google I/O conference in the last week of month… we’ll hop over all of these fast.
Aakash 2 for Rs 2263 from August 2012
With “Ice Cream Sandwich” on board, Aakash 2 will be launched at a price of just Rs 2263. It is reported that it will have dual-core Cortex – A9 processor which most of the tablets these days usealong with a capacitive touch and larger battery life. The tablet will be initially available to engineering students across the country.
Windows phone updates announced for Nokia lumia 800 and 710
Nokia is all set to release an update for lumia bros which includes “wifi-tethering” and “flip to silence”. Wifi-tethering means that now Lumia bros will be wifi hotspots as users will be able to share their mobile internet with up to 5 other users. The later feature is about silencing incoming calls and messages when the phone is turned face down. The exact date when these updates will be available is still not known but it should be pretty soon.
Google Chrome launched for iOS
Google recently launched its famous web browser “Chrome” for iOS devices iPad and iPhone. Within a few hours of it becoming “available to download”, it became the top free app in both iPhone and iPad categories. This mobile chrome version offers most of the functionality as its desktop daddy does.
Google Drive launched for iOS
Another exciting announcement in Google I/O conference was Google Drive for iOS. Whats most exciting part of this announcement was its image recognition part. So for e.g. you upload a picture of a pyramid, Google will identify it on its own based on the things Google knows about pyramids. Image recognition is not new for Google as it has used that in “Image Search” previously.
Google Now for android
“Google now” is an android app which displays “just the right information at just the right time”. So if you have a meeting according to your Google calendar, it will show you the path to get there. If you keep searching about you favorite football team, then it will show you its scorecard whenever a game is going on.
