Two things were clear from the trailer:
1. It has to be Priyadarshini’s action baby!
2. Mega Star Cast! [Ajay Devgan, Anil Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Mohanlal, Boman Irani, Zayed Khan and more]
Tezz lives up to its name: A super action packed, fast paced plot! So much so, that audience would dread to blink lest they miss a good scene. The film’s sole objective is to keep moving at a feverish pace, keeping the spectator completely immersed and entertained with the on-screen occurrences. I will just make sure that the review does not contain any spoilers. But two chase sequences that are simply outstanding and you must not miss — the first involving Sameera and the second featuring Zayed.
The action choreographers Gareth Milne and Peter Pedrero, who have previously worked on several international films, do a wonderful job in Tezz. Tirru’s cinematography deserves special mention. This must’ve been an intricate film to shoot, but the outcome is at par with any international film. Though the visual effects could have been a wee bit superior; the car stunts, the chase sequences and of course, the sequences in a moving train have been filmed with precision.
Boasting of an enviable cast with Action King Ajay Devgn in the lead role, viewers couldn’t have asked for more. Accepted that Ajay has many action movies to his credit, but he has delivered a splendid performance in ‘Tezz’. The numerous fistfights involving Anil and Ajay are too many and too frequent. The movie could have done without so many uncalled for moments. But nonetheless, the plus points effortlessly prevail over and outnumber the deficiencies in Tezz.
Kangana is an important part of the movie, though her screen time is limited and she again appears synthetic. Nonetheless, her sequence with Anil towards the final moments catches your attention. Zayed doesn’t get ample scope, but he’s fantastic in the chase sequence towards the second hour. Sameera Reddy has done good daredevil stunts and also gets a couple of interesting sequences to leave a mark. Mohanlal, an actor par excellence, has of course done well. Boman Irani is fantastic yet again and I heard some people say this is one of his best.
