“Ouch”, she screamed.
Something was wrong tonight.
Well, as if nothing has been wrong in the past few days?
Night after night, she wailed in pain
knowing that nobody could hear her.
How did this happen?
How did I land in this dark tunnel?
Night after night, she tried to find the answer
making friends with creeps, which only days ago
she was terrified of.
Night after night, she tried to find a way out, out of this darkness, loneliness, helplessness.
But more she tried, more horrors she saw.
More she prayed to get out
more painful nights she was rewarded with.
She closed her eyes, screamed for help
but nothing wielded.
So, what was the new danger tonight?
Something was mysteriously wrong
She bit her lip, anticipating the suffering to come.
She fell and cut her feet
Blood spouted out like a fountain
from her foot, already marred with a
thousand cuts.
“Oh! I cannot face this again” she cried.
She cannot face the beast again
Last time in the duel, it had ripped her skin apart
and she kept writhing with pain for two nights.
She cried out one last time
“Help me god, help me one last time!”
In the petulant exhaustion, she fell
to ground
and lay unconscious.

It felt like heaven now
as if the touch of silk, so different from the
dreary rough stones
she’s been used to all these days.
She opened her eyes and instantly recognized
the warm hazel eyes, she was looking into.
It seemed like an eternity since their eyes had met
and she had felt so protected.
So it was him last night
who came to save her
and not the beast as she had thought.
It was the darkness before the wonderful dawn
and not the beginning of a dark night
as she thought.
