The Koran on women

The Koran is holy book of Islam. Composed of 114 Suras, or chapters, this book sets forth acceptable conduct for people of the Muslim faith. Muslims believe that the Koran is the word of God.

This is the code of conduct for both Muslim men and women. It plays a major role in their life. They read Koran regularly, as being a Muslim it is important to have a detailed knowledge of Koran.

Koran consists of many phrases which makes the women’s life sometimes under difficult conditions of life but sometimes it makes their life even more easier and more blessed.

Burqa and Muslim women are always controversial. Some say women wear Burqa because of harassment from their men, and some says it is a part of their religion. I say it is part of their religion. They commemorated Koran as it is the part of their life. Koran states that a believing lady should wear BURQA or ABAAYA. Burqa is the enveloping outer cloth worn by Islamic women.

Lets discuss the actual verse of Koran for Burqa tradition.

According to Koran:

SURA 31. (CHAPTER:31)

(English translation of Koran)

And say to the believing women
that they should lower thei
gaze and guard their modesty;
that they should not display
their beauty and ornaments except
what must ordinarily appear.
Therefore, they should draw their veils
over their bosoms and not display
their beauty except to their husbands,
their fathers, their husbands’ fathers,
their sons, their husbands’ sons, their
brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their
sisters’ sons, or their women, or the
slaves they possess, or male servants
who are free of physical needs,
or small children who have no sense
of shame of sex.

koranIn simple words Koran says, women should lower their gaze, and guard their bashfulness in front of every male, she should not display their beauty in front of any male expect their husbands, fathers, husband’s fathers, sons, brothers, women.

The living situation of the women in many Muslim countries are worst than abominable. Dominating men give them the name of Koran and shut their professional as well as personal life. Nowhere in the Koran it is mentioned that women do not have the right to be educated, Women do not have right to be socialize. In the countries like Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Men design the life of women in the house of embarrassment, sorrow and disgrace.  Absence of Education and Non socialiation make the women more detached and ignorant about the outside world.

The true and actual knowledge of Koran is really important for women so that they can protect themselves from the harshness of male members. I suggest that if Koran is actually to be followed, men and women alike should read it deeply and understand its true meaning rather than concluding what they want to. Koran was designed for the betterment of people and not for what it is used today….
