MARCH 29th 2012:
TIME: ABOUT 12.00 PM
So it was yet another day at college, and a Thursday. Thursdays are equally bad as Wednesdays; no labs to chill out and double math lectures. So I was sitting in a Networks lecture with all my mind trying to understand the Routh Hurwitz Stability Criteria (It sucks
). But I had no option but to try hard to understand and comprehend all that crap or else I knew that a couple of months later I’ll be crying and then in the end sem paper laughing. But then the phone in my pocket started to vibrated. Honestly the first word that came to my mind was “SHIT”. I sort of knew it was “IT”. So quickly I grasped my phone and to my dismay it was a text message from the same number “X” as I had saved it.
“Heyaaa“, It said. I didn’t reply and kept my phone inverted on the table. I didn’t even check it once before the lecture ended (that would have been a world record I guess).
So after the lecture ended, and I picked up my phone what I saw was insane: 150 missed calls and 50 messages all from the same num “X”. It had turned quite scary by now, beyond all limits of ignorance. In fact even the idea of changing my number crossed my head (but I ignored that). So I replied back “Listen whoever u are, I give u 3 choices: a) stop texting me b) tell me your real identity c) get your number reported“. A few seconds later I received a reply and it was the strangest reply ever. “Tum kya mujhe choice doge. I have NO choices in life“. Reading this I was like “HAIN…..????“. For a very long time I kept thinking , what exactly she meant by that. There were several possibilities: this person could be in a serious trouble or this could just be another trick. After thinking for very long I decided (or rather say assumed it to be a trick) and ignored the message.
The clock struck 5 P.M. It was time to go home. So I was walking towards the main gate when I was stopped by the director of the college who reminded me that we had a meeting with the AMD about Students activity centre and the cultural committee. Although I love this stuff but then traveling 30 kilometers in those rickety buses is like a nightmare, but you can’t really say no to your AMD and director so I went to the S.A.C and the discussion began. Everything was going super normal when the phone started to vibrate again. And to be very honest my heart sulked down, I knew it was her. I didn’t even have to check and the worst part was I couldn’t even cut and switch off the damn phone because I was with the AMD. The phone vibrated continuously for half an hour. I was tensed. I didn’t know what to do. So when the meeting got over I checked the phone and as expected 50 missed calls and just 1 message. It said “U dnt realize why I am texting you like mad people, U will regret this one day, I need you and this is no more a joke plssss help.”
This messages was strange, In tits and bits, these texts conveyed that M.S ”X” was in some sort of emotional and mental trouble and wanted me to be the savior. This text of hers actually made me deviate from my initial assumption that “this is just a trick”. So I replied to her “Okay it seems like u’r in some trouble, But If u want my help why don’t u talk to me straight forward, why is that I get tons of calls from you but when I call you back, u never answer back? “
And then I waited and I waited but didn’t get a reply, that was strange. So I packed up my stuff and took an auto towards the bus stop. It was almost 7, I was late, I boarded the bus and throughout my journey I was thing about that last message. I seriously don’t know what struck into me (or rather say “into my heart”). I pulled out my phone from my pocket and dialed the number. It was ringing, and within a few seconds someone picked up the phone, but it was not a lady, instead it was man with this peculiar “GUNDA TYPE” accent and speaking style. I told him that I have been receiving innumerable calls and messages from his number, but he absolutely denied it and in his gunda types voice and accent threatened me, never to call on his number again. That was stranger I didn’t know that voice and had actually somewhat started to believe, that there could be serious trouble….
