Think twice before addressing a Northeastern people “Chinki”

A newfangled command by government of India makes it candidly unclouded that anyone caught addressing the northeastern people “Chinki”, would have 5 years in prison. The rule has been passed to shrink the ad measurement of bridge of bigotry. Especially people of Delhi many times, demoralize their selfdom just because of unique looks and dress up.

Few months back, my friend was rummaging for PG in south Delhi. The PG owners gruesomely neglected to give her room just because of her Northeastern selfdom. It’s really preternatural. The people from that area agonized many things. Just because of their cool dress-up, the down minded brains think that they don’t have a marvelous status. I know you are not even flabbergasted. It is a true paroxysm the innocent’s suffer. Just to make their life secure, government fabricated this rule. Which is as per me is de facto nice.

I must tell you that Chinki means nothing in their language, but it is a word that discriminates northeastern people from people of other areas of India. Their Chinese look gives them incommensurable identity. But is it right to discriminate people just because of their looks?

To end this racial discrimination against people from the North East, the Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered all the states and union territories to prison anyone who commits an act of barbarity against people from the region under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Imprisoning people for five years is bit ultimate horrendous. A few week imprison should be sophisticated, and also makes the same difference. But some where I am lighthearted after this initiative has been taken to confine the quagmires faced by northeastern people.

Union minister Agatha Sangma, daughter of P.A Sangma, President’s candidate, has said that the racial discrimination was the reality which required paramount’s action and contemplation.

The people of Northeastern India come to capital to make their future brighter, but here they accost with problem of humiliation, discrimination, violence by local people as well as Police. A report has disclosed that 73% of northeastern population in Delhi faced humiliation because of their appearance.  It is shocking that left % of population who did not faced mortification is just because they are very neoteric in capital.

Delhi University has also started a 24 hours phone service to enlighten the predicaments of students. Students can file a complaint as well as have recommendations from this phone line.

I hope such enthusiasm by government would bulwark these people, and they would feel bastion in the capital.
