Hackers exploited a minor security flaw that led to huge confusion and caused some unrest among the twitter followers. this bug automatically sent out (retweeted) messages from a user’s account when the computer mouse of the user rolled over the infected link.
Thousands of users including Ms. Sarah Brown, wife of former British President Gordon Brown were flustered by this. Twitter went haywire when the bug helped sending abstract adverts. The infected links looked like regular tweets but contained lines of random computer code or were completely blacked out(similar to some message that has been redacted).
The problem was finally corrected at 6.50 am California time (1350 GMT) as announced by the San Francisco based Twitter.
Happy Tweeting again!
