Wimbledon is most respected and oldest tournament of tennis. The 125th edition of this grand slam hits the grounds today. Wimbledon has always been highly exciting event attracting millions of people from all over the globe. While the men’s singles’ have been much predictable with race of cup between federer, nadal and djokovic the women’s singles’ have always been exciting with new faces shocking the old ones. The excitement radar is set to increase with return of William sister’s who did not participate in Australian and French Open. While in men’s singles’ Roger Federer will fight for his seventh Wimbledon championship to equal Pete Sampras’ record. Here are look at the favorites:
Men’s
1. Rafael Nadal
The clay master returns to grass courts. Although not on his favorite court but the Spaniard is high on confidence with his French Open title. He is well known to raise his game when required the most. 2. Novak Djokovic
The Serbian went on rampaging since start of the year wining 43 straight games after losing in semifinals of French Open. He has minor fitness issues but is currently in great form. 3. Roger Federer
Now, we can’t forget the greatest player of the time. He will race for record seventh Wimbledon title which is a high motivation for him. Even at 29 he stands as wall between other young players and the cup.
Women’s
1. Li Na
The Chinese powerhouse has been creating waves from much time. The Australian Open finalist is high on confidence with French Open title in her pocket. 2. Caroline Wozniacki
The world number 1 has only one blot against her name- she has no grand slam title in her hand. She has reached only one final-2009 US Open. So this is her chance to prove her worth. 3. Serena Williams
The defending champion returns after serious health problems which kept her away from Australian and French Open. She has won 4 titles and possesses a great threat due to quality of her game.

I dont think lina and wozniaki has any chance with Williams sisters playing….probably finals will be between them.To the author ,how can you miss out Venus Williams in a wimbledon open favorites list,I mean she has won 5 titles and has reached some 8-10 finals.
Well Novak and Murray are also in the picture,but they are back now after french open.
