Microsoft has recently released a preview version of the windows 8 on 1stJune, 2012. The promises are very high for this new version. Let me enlighten a few features as promised by Microsoft:
Features:
More personalization options for the Start screen: The start screen will now look as you want it to be. It moreover will reflect your likes as you can tag your favourite apps along with other icons on start menu.
The windows start bar: ‘CHARMS will have five options namely: Start, Search, Share, Devices and settings where each option has its individual function like start will reappear the home screen, all the devices connected to the system are displayed under the “devices” section and “share” option allows user to have a glance at the social networking apps.
Enhanced multi-monitor support: multiple monitors can be all connected together which gives you multiple working spaces. This is beneficial for the working people who have to simultaneously work on loads of stuff! Connecting 2 to 3 P.C together with windows 8 running, would give you a lot of space to work with a single keyboard and a single mouse! It surely saves you from the chaos!
Contemporary Family Safety feature:windows 8 allow parents to keep an eye on their children, no matter where they access the PC i.e. from a different P.C or a tablet, installed with the same O.S. The parents just have to create a separate account for their child and turn on the family safety option and they will be delivered a weekly report about the child’s activities. This way they can have a sneak peek into their child activities without keeping an eye on them all the time (which surely isn’t possible).
Snap Multi-tasking: ‘Snap multitasking” allow you to run two apps side-by-side allowing multitasking, as the name suggest. What would be better than viewing as well as working on more than one app at a time!

New Bing-powered Travel, News and Sports apps:
Bing travel: A dedicated app for travel related research. Pin your start menu with your favourite place, so you can view it later. It’s now easy to book your flights and hotels using this app. One click and you are all set to fly off to your favourite destination.
Bing sports: It’s a sports Hub. If you are a sports person, it’s the best place to find all the news related to that.
Bing News: It, like Bing sports, pinnacles the top stories which are being categorized further for simplification. The latest news is just one click away!
Internet Explorer 10 expertise with windows 8. It has the default option “Do Not Track” that willhelp consumers block unwanted tracking with two clicks. Managing multiple tabs in IE10 is fun.
Innate USB 3.0 Support:
New USB 3.0 ports works at a speed which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Microsoft is providing windows 8 with built-in USB 3.0 drivers, to consent the users to work in a lightning fast speed.
These above are a few of the hundred new features in windows 8. The window 8 is a windfall in tech society. Though the features look really assuring, the genuine comments can only be made after the actual release of it. The actual date of release of windows 8 is not yet declared (hints to be in October), but the preview has been released for the users. The authentic O.S is assumed to have many more features than the preview.
Here’s the link for downloading the preview of windows 8:

Important Note: If you install windows 8 preview, better save all your data into some recoverable media like DVD’s etc. once you installed this O.S (Operating System), you won’t be able to directly switch to your older O.S, you’ll have to reinstall it from installation media that came with your P.C.
ya ! let’s just hope the authenticated version is as promising as they have announced.
