First Year of College…

 

Whew!! Colleges reopen!! Although its been a while….but it all seems to be moving at snail’s pace…..days have become longer…..And since I have too much free time on my hands, I’ve decided to start a blog….Anybody out there from Delhi University?

The honeymoon phase is over now-Yes, I’m talking about the ‘First Year of College’…When the faculty of your respective department-be it Science, Arts or Commerce…. ACTUALLY gave a damn about you…and you felt like a V.I.P…and were even treated like one….

Ahh…First Year…It was memorable…even though I felt that school was better…it had its own charm…the freedom from uniform and other rules and regulations…going out with friends….mass-bunk of classes…travelling to new places (in case you shift to a hostel)….meeting new people…discussing future plans….endless gossiping with friends…trying to ‘impress’ the faculty…managing the attendance…completing the projects and assignments at last minute…studying at last minute as well ..somehow making it to the next year….

In college you learn to deal with the world on your own….you develop as a person….But its really the first year of your college life when you deal with all those changes…and if you can adapt yourself accordingly…then its a smooth college life ahead…

Exceptions are always there…..

I don’t know about ‘hard to keep appointments’ and ‘daily upsets’ but all other factors are same as in faced in school life except ‘job stress’ and ‘overdue bills’….

I guess everything depends on your attitude towards these issues and how you feel about them. These aren’t new things which you have to face in college..You’ve dealt with them in school too,indirectly…I’ve heard about lots of ‘depressed’ students too-couldn’t handle the stress…one of them even attempted suicide..she is better now..What I’m trying to say is that…people make mistakes…but they should learn from them…
