Once upon a time, Mayan scholars in the Maya region lived and prophesied that the Great Cycle equates with 5,125.36 years, which began on August 11, 3114 B.C. and ends in 2012. To be precise, a series of natural disasters will occur that will lead to the end of the world at exactly 11:11 GMT on December 21 2012. The Mayan Calendar thus ends on December 21, 2012.
Then came Nostradamus who predicted that a great big comet shall come and destroy this beautiful planet on the same date. For those unfamiliar with the name, Nostradamus (Michel De Nostredame) was a French seer (one who sees the future) and many events in modern history are said to have been predicted correctly by Nostradamus. He lived from December 14, 1503 to July 2, 1566.
We came across a very interesting blogger who has written a long post on how the government is actually conspiring about the end of the world and so on. He says “and as the world is so going to end, what will you do with all the money you have, you could send it to me!” Pun intended obviously, but I am just trying to warm you up to the idea that the apocalypse talks are all hocus pocus.
Relax and enjoy life (or work, as in my case!) and do not worry about Zombies or Meteors or Typhoons.
PS – Just interested, where will you be on December 21, 2012? Many of my friends have already started meeting up with important family members and finishing out their bucket list!
